Construction Project Teams –
making them work profitably

Cover of 'Construction Project Teams'
Since the Latham Report, the role of the construction team has been identified as central to the goal of increasing the productivity and performance of a competitive construction industry.

Construction project teams addresses the important issues involved in forming effective and profitable teams for construction projects – both within and between clients, design and construction firms. Construction project teams offers a novel view of teamwork in construction by looking at five different levels of this operation. It also draws together these conceptual levels and identifies opportunities for 'virtual' team working from emerging information technologies in the international arena.

Construction project teams is divided into two main sections. The first contains theories related to particular aspects of project teams, with key points illustrating their practical application. The second contains real and simulated building and civil engineering case studies, each including with corrective lessons to aid successful construction project team building.

The late Tim Cornick was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Reading where for 20 years previously he had been a lecturer in construction management. During that time he carried out research projects in construction management, quality management and computer-integrated construction.
